REDARC setting its sights on SEMA Show 2017

Advanced Australian manufacturer, REDARC Electronics are proud to be exhibiting at the 2017 SEMA Show at the Las Vegas Convention Centre from October 31st to November 3rd, booth no. 33281. This will be REDARC’s second year participating in the premier automotive speciality products trade event in the world.

Last year, REDARC was named a 2017 Global Media Award Winner for the Tow-Pro Elite Electric Trailer Brake Controller, and this year will be showcasing their impressive range of high powered DC-DC battery charging solutions, safe trailer braking products and other automotive accessories.

Since winning the award, REDARC have set-up a strategic plan to expand operations world-wide, with international markets to be a significant contributor to growth in the coming years. REDARC’s Export Manager, Mr. Craig Herriot, says that attending the SEMA Show is part of this plan as they set their eyes on one of the biggest and most advanced automotive aftermarkets in the world.

“The Tow-Pro Elite Electric Trailer Brake Controller was a big draw card at last year’s SEMA Show, and it allowed us to get familiar with the North American landscape and see how we could fill a significant gap in the brake controller market. We also believe a gap exists for REDARC’s high powered DC-DC chargers”, Mr. Herriot said.

“Many manufacturers were impressed with the Tow-Pro Elite’s features and we received a lot of enquiries as a direct result from attending the show.”

The Tow-Pro Elite Electric Trailer Brake Controller offers two types of braking in the one unit; ‘Proportional mode’ which actively calibrates, requiring no user input or levelling and ‘User-Controlled Mode’ designed for the greatest level of control when driving off-road. Tow-Pro Elite is the only brake controller on the market to offer the two different braking modes.

It allows simple installation of the main unit in any orientation behind the vehicle’s dash and requires only the remote head to be accessible for the driver. This stops the driver from knocking their knees on a brake controller installed in their leg space or potential interference with lower airbags in new vehicles. Operation is easy with the driver adjusting the control knob to suit trailer weight and pushing the remote head if the trailer starts to sway.

“In October REDARC will launch its new USA website which will have tips and advice on trailer braking and how to charge and power auxiliary loads from a secondary battery.

“Best of all, all our products will be sold with free shipping across the USA”, Mr. Herriot stated.

Recently, REDARC released its next generation DC-DC chargers, the BCDC1225D and BCDC1240D models; dual input 25 and 40 Amp In-vehicle Battery Chargers that can use solar and DC inputs simultaneously to charge a secondary battery bank.

REDARC developed a feature in this new range, called ‘Green Power Priority’, which means it will draw as much power from solar when installed before ‘topping up’ the secondary battery from the start battery’s power. This reduces vehicle emissions and places less stress on the engine. It’s also compatible with 12 and 24 Volt vehicle systems, variable voltage (smart) alternators and charges all battery chemistries, including a Lithium Charging Profile (LiFePO4).

The benefit of having one of these battery chargers in your vehicle or trailer is that it provides users with the confidence to go ‘off-grid’ for longer as they have been designed to boost voltage to overcome voltage drop and apply the right charging algorithm to the battery chemistry being charged. All of our battery chargers have been designed and tested to charge secondary batteries to a proven 100%”, states Craig.

Innovations like these are only possible when a company like REDARC invests 15% of its revenue back into R&D. About 25 percent of their staff focus purely on innovation and can provide a full design and prototyping capability to meet the needs of its customers.

“Innovation is about transforming ideas into outstanding commercialized products that create new global business opportunities”, says Craig. “We’re excited to strengthen our position and involvement in the North American automotive aftermarket. There is tremendous potential for manufacturers and dealers to add value and use our products to the benefit of themselves and their customers.”

REDARC will have its award-winning high powered In-vehicle battery chargers on display in this year’s SEMA New Products Showcase. REDARC’s Tow-Pro Elite Electric Trailer Brake Controller, Dual Battery Isolators and Chargers, DC Power Supplies, Charge Equalizers and 2-1/16” (52mm) Monitoring Gauges will also be on show at its booth 33281 in the Upper South Hall.
